There is a change for after hours medical care from June:

This aligns with Care Around The Clock messaging used widely across Canterbury that encourages people to call their usual GP team, 24/7, for health advice and guidance.


There are a few things you can do to support a seamless transition to the Care Around The Clock model:


  • Ensure all references to the 0800 700155 number are removed

  • Tell patients to store your phone number in their phone, and make it the first port of call for health advice after-hours;

  • Reassure your patients that they will receive health advice, including information about what to do and where to go if they need urgent care, from a health professional when they call you after-hours;
